A Practical Guide to Buying and Selling True-Vintage Hawaiian Shirts
Craig Callaway spent the 2nd through 4th grades in Hawai`i and returns to the islands as often as possible. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer for five years, followed by 25 years as a technical and marketing writer. He has handled between 800 and 1,000 vintage Hawaiian shirts. While researching the book, he interviewed experts with a combined 130 years of experience who have handled upwards of 400,000 shirts. Craig and his wife Maureen -- who was born in Hawai`i -- live in southern Oregon. He wears Hawaiian shirts every day except during the coldest days of winter.
